Banteay Srei temple (ប្រាសាទបន្ទាយស្រី)

I would like to write you detail about Banteay Srei temple and why you should go there.

Banteay Srei is located around 37km from Siem Reap city and is widely regarded as the most beautiful temple in the Angkor Area. Construction began during the reign of Rajendravarman II and was completed around 967.

Now people well known as the Citadel of Women or Pink Temple due to the many fine sculptures with a redish pink hue which have been very well preserved by the hard sandstone.

It takes us about 45 minutes from Siem Reap city to get there. The drive is quite lovely and we can see real Cambodian traditional houses along the way, very green rice fields  from July to October or an Orange Brown colour from November till mid of December when the rice is harvested.  We can stop along the way to take photos as you like.

On the way back we can stop at a local Pam Sugar producer so you can see how and hear how it’s done, or if you prefer the landmine museum and/or butterfly centre.
