This private, customizable tour begins in the morning at 9am in front of your Siem Reap hotel. It’s here where you’ll meet your local guide for the full-day Siem Reap adventure, and get settled into a minivan or sedan, depending on the size of the group.
From here you’ll travel to Banteay Srei, the exquisite sandstone temple, located 22 miles (37 kilometers) outside of Siem Reap and away from the Angkor crowds. Commonly known as the “Pink Temple,” Banteay Srei casts a pinkish hue from the bright color of sandstone, and features exceptional, 3D sculptures that have amazingly lasted for centuries.
After touring Banteay Srei temple with your guide, you’ll visit a sugar processing plant that’s located out in the countryside. Chat with the workers and local villagers who process sugar from palms, and then head to Srah Srang for a traditional lunch of papaya salad and fresh fruit.
At the tree-covered temple of Banteay Kdei, spend the afternoon photographing the fascinating, 12th century temple, which is similar in appearance to famous Ta Prohm—but without the same level of crowds. You’ll also visit Banteay Samré to see its interior moat, before settling in for the hour-long drive to close the day with a sunset.
After watching the show from Tonle Sap Lake, or quiet Phnom Krom, your tour ends around 7:30pm when you’re dropped at your Siem Reap hotel.
